North East Enterprise Agency is a unique collaboration of multi-award winning enterprise agencies supporting businesses across the North East of England.

North East Enterprise Agency was established in 2008 to ensure there was regional coverage of enterprise and business support services across North East England. Today, we continue to play a critical role within the enterprise and business support landscape, providing an unrivalled package of business support services across the region.

Through our board members and staff, we contribute strategic input into many business partnerships and networks.

Together, we are a significant local employer with 241 full-time employees and a collective turnover of £14.9 million. We are one of the largest providers of incubation space across the region as well as being a significant provider of business support loans.

The strength of North East Enterprise Agency is in our structure. Our partnership enables a diverse offering of products and services, personalised and pertinent to local requirements but, through partnership, can be scaled up. This allows us to operate effectively and efficiently across North East England,

For us, North East Enterprise Agency’s business support programmes are not just contractual obligations to fulfil. The motivation to deliver comes from the sense that everyone is sharing in a vested interest in seeing their local economy do well.

As Enterprise agencies we are committed to the Local Enterprise Agency guidance for governance and structure which has set requirements balancing commercial reality with a social ethos.  Following this guidance we are committed to retain any surpluses within the organisation and we use them to provide more support to potential new and existing small and medium sized enterprises.
