Northumberland Business Services Ltd have been supporting enterprise for over 20 years and in that time they've helped over 9,000 people to explore a new business idea. They’ve helped over 12,000 businesses to grow and they've created over 3,300 new jobs as a result. They’ve also helped almost 5000 individuals to develop their skills to make them more effective in their role. With an experienced yet friendly team, they’re big enough to deliver regional programmes with impact yet small enough to understand the importance of care – helping build individual confidence and bring a sense of comfort when big decisions loom. NBSL was shortlisted for the Enterprise Agency of the year in 2020 by the National Enterprise Network and is Customer First Accredited, ISO 9001 accredited, and abides by the North of Tyne Good Work Pledge.

Covering the county of Northumberland, NBSL offer business support and guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs, start-ups and established businesses alike. They provide confidential advice, training courses and workshops, mentoring schemes, skills development and access to advice on grants.

Along with the delivery of government and publicly-funded support programmes, the team deliver the North East Business Support Fund in Northumberland, Tyne and Wear and County Durham.

NBSL also deliver the fully funded skills programme, Better Business Skills – in partnership with the North of Tyne Combined Authority. Providing a tailored plan for individuals and businesses that need guidance and support to re-invigorate and refresh their business skills, the initiative is aimed at residents and businesses living and working in Newcastle Upon Tyne, North Tyneside and Northumberland. The scheme has been developed in response to the challenging and ever-changing economic landscape currently faced by businesses of all shapes and sizes.

NBSL are a quality assured member of the National Enterprise Network, IOEE Academy member and an approved provider with the Education & Skills Funding Agency. NBSL also provides white label services to help sustain consistent and quality business support across the North East that can aid development and growth.
